Kyotmunga Estate is a small family-owned winery and olive grove situated less than one hour's drive north-east of Perth. It was first planted with vines in 1997 and the first vintage was produced in 2000. All the grapes are hand-picked and since 2003, the wine has been made on site.
Kyotmunga's signature wine is Shiraz, but Grenache, Barbera, Chenin Blanc and Taminga (a hybrid variety developed by the CSIRO for warm climate growing conditions) is also produced. A Shiraz/Grenache port and a sparkling Shiraz is also available.
The owners operate the cellar door and offer customers a special experience as they are happy to discuss the process of grape growing and wine production. Not only can they provide you with that little extra attention, but customers can also sample Kyotmunga's own extra virgin olive oil, dukkah and olives.
